artist thoughts:

I love weekend mornings. And when I was little we would sometimes stay the night at my Grandma’s house. And without fail, the next morning we would awake to the best home cooked old fashioned breakfast. Although my Grandma made a full spread of every breakfast item you could imagine. I thought it would be nice to focus on one of her staples. The good old eggs and bacon ( with pepper on top). Her house would fill with the aroma of eggs ,bacon, fired potatoes, and hot coffee. It was a happy place. And a moment in time I know my brother and sisters remember with the same treasured feelings that I have. I think as we grow up we all have memories of some of the special meals our Mom’s and our Grandma’s would fix for us. And there is a certain longing nostalgia of, “ I wish we could all be together like that just one more time”.

As I spoke of before, there is a bit of a movement going on in the art world, where artists are creating painting 5x5” to 8x10”. And accomplishing two things by doing this. One: the artist gets to explore more subject matter as paintings are finished faster due to size. and Two: The artist creates an original painting that is smaller in size and therefor can be priced at a very affordable price. To the point that it is in a price point that most people can afford to start their own original art collection.
